Short Description:

This is one of the "boring sponges", which create round holes up to around 5 cm in diameter in. In the colony there are small holes covering its entire plain The overall colour is grey with a light brown tint

Size: Their colonies can be up to 750mm in diameter
Behaviour: The boring sponge lives on the ocean floor. They group in colonies rather than wander alone. They do this for protection and reproduction 
Diet: They get their food through small "filters" as seawater flows through
Distribution: Worldwide
Depth: 30m
Habitat: Shallow rocky reefs
