We would like to make specific mention of the new species listed below.
- Marionia sp2 (Blue spot nudibranch), this nudi was found at Postmans Reef.
- Halgerda dichromis (Mosaic Dorid), was found at Riybanks. This specie is usually found in warmer waters
- Pavoclinus laurentii (Rippled Klipfish) was found at the Slipway This species is generally found only from Port Alfred eastwards, the find in Port Elizabeth demonstrates a slight range extension. (more)
- Preactis millardae (Sock anemone), was found at Sharkgully(PE) and Three Sisters(PE). The new edition of "Two Oceans", which contains the anemone stipulates its distribution as reaching only as far east as Agulhas - so Port Elizabeth is thus a serious range extension! (more)
- Dendrophyllia spp(Turret coral), was found at Riybanks. It is a beautiful soft coral very similar in looks to corals normally found in warmer waters.
